Yad LaKashish: Lifeline for the Old gives more than 300 of Jerusalem's needy elderly and disabled a sense of purpose and self-worth through creative work opportunities, essential support services and a warm community environment.

Our Objectives

  • Empowerment

Yad LaKashish empowers the elderly and disabled poor of Jerusalem to become contributing members of Israeli society through training and work opportunities in handicrafts.

  • Financial Aid and Support Services

Yad LaKashish provides crucial services that help the elderly and disabled poor to maintain their independence while at the same time recognizing their legitimate needs for financial aid and support services.

  • Intergenerational Connections

Yad LaKashish raises awareness about the opportunities for engaging the elderly and disabled in society through inter-generational connections made with the thousands of visitors and volunteers who return to their communities across the globe as advocates for the aged.

Photos on this website have been taken by staff members, volunteers and visitors. Special thanks to volunteer photographers Ada Dorman and Zoe Paskett.
